COMMUNITY spirit is stronger than ever in a local neighbourhood after a new forum was set up.
River Clyde Homes’ tenants from Ravenscraig Court have teamed up to tackle problems that affect residents in their area.
James McLean, who is the chairperson of the new group said:
“One of the best ways of getting involved with River Clyde Homes is to join or set up a Registered Tenants’ Organisation (RTO).
“By doing so you will be consulted on key policy matters which will affect all tenants.
“Through environmental improvements, campaigning on local issues and organising community events an RTO can make a positive impact on the area.
“Overall, it’s a great way to have your say on the way River Clyde Homes delivers services specifically in your area and across the whole of Inverclyde.”
Councillor Tommy McVey added: “I approached River Clyde Homes about six months ago about the possibility of setting up a Residents and Tenants Organisation in Ravenscraig Court.
“They were very supportive and I am pleased to say that when we approached the residents of the flats they were more than enthusiastic about the idea.”
