POLICE have cordoned off two Greenock shops after armed robberies.
Yorston Stores in Brachelston Street and U Save in Roxburgh Street have both been held up.
Staff at U Save a masked man burst in carrying an axe around 8.30am.
Police are also guarding the scene at nearby Yorston's but have not yet confirmed if the two incidents are linked.
