A GREENOCK school pupil was pitch perfect at a Dragons' Den-inspired business event in Glasgow.

Eilidh Denny, who attends Inverclyde Academy, was the area's sole representative at a workshop organised by professional services firm PwC at its city centre office in partnership with the Social Mobility Business Partnership, a charity dedicated to supporting students from low-income backgrounds in their pursuit of a career in the likes of law or accountancy.

The challenge was designed to help pupils from across the west of Scotland find out more about business and the career choices they face as they prepare to sit their highers.

Eilidh was among 22 pupils from across parts of Glasgow, Inverclyde and Dumfries and Galloway for a week-long initiative which also saw them spend a day each with STV, Glasgow Warriors, SSE and Network Rail and says it was a great learning experience.

She said: "I've definitely picked up negotiating skills.

"I've always wanted to study law, but I can now see that accountant could be a path for me.

"I'm about to start sixth year and this event was recommended to me by my guidance teacher.

"It's been really good and I've met lots of new people."

PwC staff worked with the young men and women helping them prepare and present their business ideas to a panel of 'dragons'.
