A MAMMOTH volunteer effort is underway in Greenock to help refugees fleeing terror-torn Ukraine.
A central sorting hub has been established at Cathcart House in the town centre and a team of volunteers are working to sort and package donations.
Rooms are filled to the ceiling with bags that have been handed in by members of the local community.
Heading up the volunteer effort is Polish national Monika Kobylinska who said: "We have been overwhelmed with donations, people have been very kind.
"We are looking now for items such as medications, first aid kits and dry foods that we can send over."
Anyone who wishes to volunteer can contact CVS Inverclyde or go along to Cathcart House on Thursdays to Saturdays from noon until 6pm.
