A SECOND man has appeared in court as part of a murder inquiry into the death of Michael Beaton in Greenock last month.
Police confirmed last night that a 22-year-old male had been arrested and charged amid the ongoing probe.
Lewis Wiggins, from Greenock, is charged with murder, attempted murder, and attempt to defeat the ends of justice.

He made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody after appearing at Greenock Sheriff Court on Wednesday afternoon.
He is due to return to court within the next eight days.
Mr Beaton, 35, was found with serious injuries on Drumfrochar Road on November 26.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died a few hours later.
Earlier this month, 25-year-old Alexander McQuillan appeared at the sheriff court charged with murder, as well as an alleged threatening or abusive behaviour offence and theft of a motor vehicle.
