BEER enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice during a 12-day beer festival at Greenock's biggest pub.

The James Watt on Cathcart Street is hosting the event from March 6 to 17 - with prices just £1.99 a pint.

A vast selection of real ales, including beers brewed specially for the festival and five from overseas brewers in Taiwan, Germany, USA, Belgium, and Italy, will be featured.

Neil Clark, pub manager, said: "The festival is a great celebration of real ale.

"It will allow us to showcase a selection of superb beers, including those from overseas, over a 12-day period, at great value-for-money prices.

"It will also give our customers the opportunity to enjoy a number of beers which have not previously been available in the pub, as well as those brewed specially for the festival."

The beer festival's line-up features an exciting set of ales from vegan options to those with chocolate and vanilla in their ingredients.

The list includes Spring Frenzy from Daleside Brewery, Disco Macaw from Redpoint Brewing, Taiwan, and Chocolate Ale from Leikeim Brewery, Germany, among others.

A special offer has been announced where customers can taste three third-of-a-pint tasters for the price of a pint.
