A GREENOCK confectionery company is offering free treats to those who attended a now infamous Willy Wonka-inspired event in Glasgow.
Willy’s Chocolate Experience was recently organised by events company House of Illuminati.
Parents who paid up to £35 for tickets were promised a place where ‘chocolate dreams become reality’.
The botched event quickly went viral online and made headlines around the world after families were greeted by a shoddily decorated warehouse where children were offered a handful of jelly beans each and a half-filled cup of lemonade.
The event was shut down abruptly, with police being called to the venue as tempers rose.
Now, Golden Casket - which owns the famous Millions and Buchanan’s brands - is hoping to sprinkle a little sweetness for those affected by giving away complimentary bundles.
The offer is available to anyone who has a ticket or booking receipt for Willy’s Chocolate Experience.
Carly Rae, marketing manager at Golden Casket, said: “We may not be responsible for the Willy Wonka mishaps, but we sure know how to make things sweet again.
“Let's turn those memories into something a bit more special.”
