ALTHOUGH many members of the Royal Family have visited Inverclyde over the years Princess Anne has probably been here more than any other. The Princess Royal is very popular with the British public and, with her affection for the Scottish nation and its people, it is always a pleasure to photograph her.
Pic1: Telegraph photographer Kris Cairns caught this photograph of a happy Princess Anne when she visited Erskine Hospital in 2005.
Pic2: I took this picture when Princess Anne visited Greenock care home Little Sisters of the Poor in 2004. Inverclyde MP David Cairns, council chief executive Robert Cleary and Councillor Ciano Rebecchi were amongst those who greeted the Princess Royal.
Pic3: Tele photographer Douglas Hendry took this picture of the Princess Royal when she visited Greenock Wanderers for the opening of their new clubhouse in 2008.
Pic4: I joined the press corps for a picture opportunity when Princess Anne visited Inverclyde Carers' Centre in 2004. The Princess Royal is seen here chatting to centre manager Eleanor Robertson.
Pic5: I again had an opportunity to photograph Princess Anne when she visited Inverclyde to open the Centre for Independent Living on Greenock's Gibshill Road in 2008.
The Princess was welcomed to the premises by then-Inverclyde Provost Michael McCormick.
