A DATE has been set for the opening of a new fried chicken diner in Greenock.
Bird Chicken Shop will open for business at the former WestEnd Bar and Kitchen on West Blackhall street on March 22.
The venture is being led by experienced chef Rashith Siriwardhana, who hopes that his restaurant will add new flavours to the local food scene.
The 35-year-old will already be a familiar face to many of those who frequent Inverclyde’s eateries, having worked at Punto in Kilmacolm and been part of the team that launched 1830 Eatery in Gourock.
The venue will start taking its first orders when doors open at noon this Friday.
