A RENOWNED criminologist and author is to stop off in Greenock as he tours a new show discussing books that have 'motivated murder' and how fiction ‘can sometimes become fact’.

Professor David Wilson is joining forces with novelist and author Marcel Theroux for a 33-date UK tour of ‘Killer Books’.

The tour begins in Lerwick on September 1 and will draw on David and Marcel’s unique insights and knowledge of both murder and fiction.

Greenock Telegraph:

David has studied criminal behaviour for 40 years and has hosted many TV crime shows, including Channel 4’s In The Footsteps of Killers.

Marcel most recently presented The Playboy Bunny Murder on ITV and also has more than two decades of experience in the literary field.

The tour will see them delve into the realm of murder in fiction, characters, plots and locations that arouse lethal violence in the real world.

David said: “I am delighted to be touring again and am looking forward to once again engaging with the audiences, about true crime, violence and murder.

“And this time I will have a friend along for the ride, who will bring a whole new perspective on the topic.”

Marcel added: “This will be my first tour and I am so lucky to get to do it with an accomplice like David Wilson.

Greenock Telegraph:

“I am truly thrilled to be a part of this - it’s such a fascinating topic – and to dive deep into the world of murder and fiction in front of a live audience every night will be a great experience and one I am greatly looking forward to.”

Killer Books comes to the Beacon Arts Centre on September 27.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am and will be available at ProfessorDavidWilson.co.uk
