A BID to build two new homes on the edge of Kilmacolm has been turned down by Inverclyde Council.
An application had been lodged to develop properties on former garden grounds at the western end of Knockbuckle Road.
The land involved is part of the greenbelt.
Council officials said the plan did not meet key criteria for new houses on greenbelt land.
Their decision notice also stated the properties were not appropriately designed for the character of the area.
