THE Care Inspectorate is putting the Adoption, Fostering and Continuing Care Services in Inverclyde under the microscope.

The inspection started on Monday and will last four weeks.

It will look at how children and young people’s wellbeing is supported, as well as the planning around care and support.

Inverclyde’s fostering, adoption and continuing care services were last inspected in 2018, when the service received 'very good' grades.

In the new inspection, watchdogs will take a sample of records cases for evaluation.

They will also send anonymous questionnaires out to people using the service, plus stakeholders and education and health professionals.

They will also attend fostering, adoption and continuing care reviews, as well as looking at policies and procedures.
