AN INVERKIP man charged with carrying a knife on a Greenock street more than three years ago is set to face a jury trial next month.
Ross Shearer is accused of being in possession of a blade at Murdieston Street on February 27, 2021 without reasonable excuse.
The 41-year-old also failed to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court for a hearing on July 18 last year, according to prosecutors.
He denied the alleged offences through lawyer Gerry Keenan and the case was continued to a trial on May 20.
Shearer's bail has been continued in the meantime.
