A MAN has been found dead on the M8 motorway in Renfrewshire.

The man, 68, was found dead within a vehicle last night between junction 29 and 30 westbound.

The road was closed around 8.52pm on Thursday and re-opened around 2.36am on Friday, according to Traffic Scotland.

The death is being treated as unexplained however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

It is understood that the incident is being treated as a medical death.

Police said that a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Thursday, December 4, a 68-year-old man was found dead within a vehicle on the M8 between junctions 29 and 30.

“His death is being treated as unexplained however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
