A TOP line-up of acts will entertain the crowds at an annual musical extravaganza in Gourock.

Hark in the Park returns to Gourock Park on Sunday August 21 for the third year in a row, featuring live performances from local man Davy Nicol and Inverclyde bands Reely Jiggered, pictured, The Drams, The Sinsheimers, Urban Folkers and The Woopi Singers supported by the Terminal Choir.

The event is once again being organised by the Rotary Club of Gourock in partnership with 1st Gourock Scouts.
There will also be fun and games for children plus hot and cold food and drink.

Hark in the Park is free entry but the event is organised to help raise money for local causes and donations are encouraged.

The proceeds this year will be split between Children in Poverty Inverclyde, Inverclyde Family Contact Centre and Samaritans Inverclyde.

Rotary Club president Robert Wilson said: “Building on the success of Hark in the Park over the last two years, Gourock Rotary with our event partners - 1st Gourock Scouts - are now in the final stages, of planning 2016’s gig, which will be held on Sunday August 21 in Gourock Park’s Walled Garden from 1pm to 5pm.

“The winning formula of top-flight acts The Drams, Reely Jiggered, Davy Nicol’s Urban Folkers, the WOOPI Singers - supported by the Terminal Choir, and The Sinsheimers, promises another afternoon of first-class musical entertainment.

“All we need is for the rain to stay away!”

Volunteers from the Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Heritage museum in Greenock and members of Greenock’s Classic Car Club will also be in attendance along with their vintage vehicles.

1st Gourock Scouts will have a range of fun activities for children plus there will be balloon modelling, face painting, badge making and a raffle with top-class prizes on offer.
