A TEAM of ‘pink ladies’ rolled into action to raise money for a cancer charity.
The ladies section of Gourock Bowling Club donned their best pink outfits for a charity day in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Their efforts raised £500 for the charity.
Isobel Delussey, who is the president of the ladies section said: “So many people at the club have got family members who have suffered from cancer over the last wee while which is why we chose to donate to Cancer Research UK this year. So we organised a charity day and invited other ladies sections to come and play.
“We also had tea and coffee and a raffle. The charity day raised £250 and Al Vanden Akker, who is the past president, kindly matched that with a donation of £250, which brought the total to £500.
“His business, Ideal Schools, also sponsored the day.”
Isobel was also keen to thank everyone who made the day such a success.
She added: “We’re very grateful to the ladies from the other clubs who came along to play.
“It was a great day and everyone enjoyed dressing up in pink.”
