NAVY veteran Jimmy Groat of Gourock wished good luck to one of the competitors taking part in an international Paralympic-style multi-sport event taking place in Canada.
Jimmy lives in the Erskine Home for ex-servicemen, which was visited by former paratrooper Scott Meenagh, who lost his legs fighting in Afghanistan.
Scott called in before flying to Toronto for the Invictus Games, and said he was inspired by the veterans.
Jimmy said: “Scott was an awful nice chap. I very much liked meeting him and chatting to him, and I wish him all the best in the Invictus Games.
"If Scott comes back to visit us again with his medals, I’m going to show him the medals I won at the ‘games’ we organised here at Erskine!”
