TALENTED young Gourock footballers have netted a welcome funding boost.
The players at Gourock YAC are celebrating after receiving a £626 donation from Lodge Firth of Clyde Gourock 626.
Robert Love, chairman of the football club, said: “It’s absolutely marvellous.
“This is the second time we have received a donation from them. Two years ago they gave us £800.
“The money will be used to help run the club, so we want to say a big thank you to everyone.” He was particularly keen to thank lodge members Rudi Stetz, who was a founding member of Gourock YAC, and Robert Wilson, who was one of the first players when the club was set up.
