THE transformation of Gourock town centre is rapidly taking shape as part of a £5.25 million redevelopment project.
A new road along Lower Kempock Street through the car park is starting to appear.
It will form part of a one-way system in the town centre.
Work on a public footpath along the water’s edge is well under way too.
A new surface has been laid and streetlights in the shape of a sail have been installed.
The town centre redevelopment project also includes repairs to the sea wall on Lower Kempock Street, extra car parking spaces, new paving and road resurfacing.
Work is expected to be completed by October.
The redevelopment is being funded by Inverclyde Council and carried out via regeneration body Riverside Inverclyde.
