INVERCLYDE’S police commander is urging local people to take part in a consultation aimed at shaping the future of the service.

Chief Inspector Elliot Brown wants as much feedback as possible as part of the Police Scotland 2026 programme, which has been set up to develop a strategy for the future.

He said: “The consultation is open until May 8 and I am keen that people in Inverclyde take a few minutes to read the plan, consider the direction in which Police Scotland and the Scottish Police Authority are going and provide their views and comments.

“We are in the process of contacting our partners, elected members, community councils, tenants’ and residents’ associations and community groups to ensure that we get the message out across Inverclyde of the importance of local voices being heard as we develop our police services for an evolving Inverclyde and Scotland.”

To have your input you can access the consultation on the Police Scotland website at www.scotland.police.uk
