A8 roadworks cause delays
LONG traffic delays were caused on both sides of the A8 through Greenock on Wednesday because of roadworks.
One lane was closed off in both directions, resulting in long tailbacks between Cappielow and the Bullring roundabout.
Scotland TranServ, who are responsible for the management and maintenance of trunk roads, said the closures were implemented by BT Openreach.
A spokesman for Scotland TranServ said: “Utilising Openreach’s existing lane closures, Scotland TranServ took the opportunity to carry out routine carriageway improvements.”
