FOOTBALL fans on a weight loss programme celebrated a ‘goal-den’ moment after raising vital funds for Ardgowan Hospice.
The participants who are completing the ‘Football Fans In Training (FFIT) scheme, run by Morton Community Trust, raised £713 by taking part in a fundraising football match.
Brian McLaughlin, development manager at the trust, told the Tele: “The hospice is a great place.
“They go above and beyond for people who need the care and support.”
Elaine McNeill, Ardgowan community development manager, said they are so grateful for the donation.
She said: “It was a really good day, everyone enjoyed themselves.
“It’s great that people are getting fit and raising money at the same time.”
Brian was keen to thank everyone who made the event such as success, including David McCluskey, Gordon Burns, Bill Stewart and Gordon McKillop.
He also thanked Bookers and Cigna for their support.
