A GREENOCK company has snapped up two Cartsburn office blocks in a 1.2million deal.

Holt Court and Victory Court, in Arthur Street, have been bought by Arranglen Ltd.

The firm is the investment vehicle for the Easdale family, owners of Scotland's largest independent bus operator McGill's, which is also based in the town.

Scottish Enterprise currently lease both buildings, whose occupants include call centre firm HEROtsc and the local procurator fiscal HQ.

The Tele recently revealed a major expansion at HEROtsc, with bosses taking on 100 new full-time staff.

Both office buildings, which are three storeys high, were bought at auction with Holt Court fetching 815,000 and Victory Court the sum of 460,000.

James Easdale, chairman of Arranglen Limited, said: "We are committed to investing in Greenock and the surrounding area and this purchase is an example of that.

"The buildings are modern office blocks situated in a great location at the heart of the town and we intend to maintain the accommodation and facilities to the highest possible standard.

"Scottish Enterprise's continuing occupancy was obviously attractive to us and they are excellent tenants to have in the accommodation."

Scottish Enterprise has a lease to remain in the buildings until 2019.

The deal is the latest investment Arranglen has made in the area, as the company has expanded McGill's Buses and also bought over Blairs Windows and turned its fortunes around.

Mr Easdale added: "The acquisition marks further investment in our home town by Arranglen to accompany the expansion of McGill's Buses, which goes from strength to strength and is continuing to create jobs for the local area, and the purchase of the Blairs Windows factory in March 2011 which allowed the business to continue.

"We will continue to look for fresh business opportunities throughout the area and we hope that in doing so we can support both job creation and the wider Greenock and west of Scotland economy."
