BUDDING stage stars from Jericho House are gearing up for their Christmas extravaganza.

Recovering addicts are preparing to put on their annual festive show, entitled Big Bro’ Jericho Ho Ho Ho! in Port Glasgow.

This year’s performance has the usual comic capers alongside a theme of reality show Big Brother.

Residents use drama to help their battle with drugs addiction and any proceeds through the event will go towards paying for attendance at conferences.

Senior support worker Margaret Diamond, said: “It’s really funny with a Christmas theme — someone plays presenter Emma Willis and all the contestants have fancy names.

“I’m always saying to them that this place reminds me of Big Brother the way they all go on.” The annual concert has proved a popular festive hit over the years.

Margaret said: “The show has been running for nine years and it’s got bigger and better.” Staff member Stephen Delaney is producer and he and his 16-strong cast have been rehearsing for six weeks.

Margaret, who was recently presented with a British Empire Medal for her work helping people get their lives back on track, said: “The guys all love doing the show.

“It’s really good for their morale and self-esteem.” The concert will take place in St John’s Church hall on 21 December.

Doors open at 6.30pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm Tickets costing £5 are on sale at the door on the night — under 12s go free.
