INVERCLYDE Hobbit star John Bell says he can’t wait to meet film fans in Greenock at a special screening of the smash-hit blockbuster.

The 17-year-old, who has made a name for himself in Hollywood after starring as Bain in The Battle of the Five Armies, will meet fans at a screening in the Waterfront Cinema on Friday 23 January.

As well as holding a question and answer session, John will also bring along memorabilia from the set.

He told the Tele: “It’s really special for me to be able to do this in my local area.

“The film is shown worldwide but to attend a screening in my area where I grew up is fantastic.

“Both Ian McKellen who stars as Gandalf and Luke Evans who plays Bard have both been to screenings in their local area so I wanted to do the same.

“I’m so excited as I’m going to have the chance to press the play button to start the film.” On the night there will also be a best dressed competition with signed goodies up for grabs.

John, who lives in Kilmacolm, added: “It’s great to be able to share the last Hobbit movie with fans one last time.

“I’m not sure what to expect from the Q&A but usually people have really good questions and I’m always happy to answer them.” The evening starts at 6.30pm with an exhibition of Hobbit memorabilia before the film begins at 6.50pm.

Afterwards there will be a question and answer session at 9.15pm. To book tickets phone the box office on 732201.
