AN oil worker sported a mohawk hairdo for a year, raising smiles and £2,500 for the hospice.
Alan McCafferty came up with the novel money-making idea to thank Ardgowan Hospice for caring for his late father Hugh.
The 49-year-old was sponsored by workmates over a year while working for the energy giant Chevron in Angola.
Alan, who hails from Forfar Road but now lives in Norway, also said his uncle Alex Leitch was looked after in the hospice.
He told the Telegraph: “I want to thank them for the care.
“They gave them both a bit of dignity and the help and the care the family got was excellent.” “It’s a fitting tribute to my dad and uncle.”
