POLICE seized a drug haul worth almost £150,000 during a swoop on a flat in Port Glasgow.

The operation took place last night when officers - acting under a warrant - pounced on a flat in Mary Street and searched the property.

They recovered a quantity of drugs, believed to be cocaine, heroin and cannabis resin, with an estimated street value of £148,000.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Police say a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The arrested man is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court tomorrow.
