BOMB disposal experts have been called to Gourock after a suspected old wartime device was spotted on the seabed by a diver.
The unexploded device alert saw the Coastguard immediately alerted.
Experts from the Royal Navy Bomb Disposal team at Faslane - including divers - arrived at the scene, in Albert Road, next to Gourock Outdoor Pool.
They told the Tele they were investigating the reported find, with a small craft seen patrolling the area around a buoy in the river.
The Bomb Disposal Team told the Telegraph they believe the item to be an 'historical ordnance device'.
No roads were sealed off and ferry services to and from Gourock have been operating as normal.
