IT was ready, steady ‘bowl’ at Fort Matilda as players took to the green for their annual open day.
The Newark Street club basked in sunshine at the family event.
Club secretary Norrie Mungin said everyone had a marvellous time.
He added: “The club’s opening day took place on a sunny dry day attended by our guests, the vice presidents of both the Renfrewshire Bowling and the Greenock and District Associations, who wished the club continuing success during the season.
“Many local kindred clubs were also represented.
“The first bowl was delivered expertly by Isabelle Young, wife of this years’ president Robert Young and this was followed by an eight end wappenschaw, enthusiastically played over six rinks by club members.”
After working up an appetite, the players and guests tucked in to an afternoon tea.
Norrie added: “An excellent afternoon tea was laid on by the ladies and thoroughly enjoyed by all.”
