A FUN family event beat the weather to raise more than £800.
The recent Newark Care Home fete in Port Glasgow proved a great success.
Residents and their families attended the get-together, which included vintage motorcycles, beat-the-goalie, sponge-throwing and a visit from animal firm Bunny & Co.
Margaret McClure, the activities co-ordinator who organised the fundraiser, says she was really pleased with the amount raised.
She added: “It was quieter than usual because of the weather but it brightened up and everyone who came along really supported the event.
“There was home baking, a bottle stall and a tombola. The burgers and hot dogs also went down well!
“Bunny &Co brought in rabbits and the children got to hold and play with the animals.
The total raised was £814 which will be spent on days out, trips and treats for residents.
