TALENTED performers went into a tailspin to raise cash for Haiti's earthquake victims.

Students old and new showcased their skills at James Watt College to help the massive relief effort abroad.

Hot hip-hop squad #1 Blud Street Dancers drew a massive crowd at their lunchtime gig, near to cafe Bibo, with their rapping and body-popping antics.

Head honcho Gurjas Makkar is a graduate of the college and he and his crew, Sampath Fernando, Rudy Mbumzama and Fashida Maringa, were only too happy to help the campaign.

Billy Kinnear, curriculum manager, said: "They got a very good response and struck up a good rapport with the crowd." Music student Chris McEwan delivered an acoustic set of Oasis songs.

The event has already raised £300 and is the start of a series of fundraisers.

James Watt College assistant principal Alistair Shaw said: "Due to the disaster and horrific scenes in Haiti, it was felt our students and staff could give a little support to help those who found themselves in such tragic circumstances. "Our staff and students were delighted to take part in events to raise funds to help the situation."
