I HAD a brilliant night at The Bafta New Talent Awards in Glasgow.

The glamorous ceremony celebrates and rewards a diverse group of up and coming talent in the creative industries.

I was delighted to be asked to present the Best Editor award, which went to Michal Wdowiack.

Other big winners on the night were young actress Sarah Miele, who won Best Female Acting Performance, and Daniel Cameron, who walked away with Best Male Acting Performance.

The crowd was shocked when Trainspotting director Danny Boyle took to the stage to present Best New Work.

I am such a huge fan of his work, from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ to the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.

I didn’t get the chance to meet him. Shame as I would have loved a selfie!

Food Market

As a keen lover of food I am so excited about the Scottish Food Market at Kip Marina.

The monthly market has high quality food and drinks, with stalls including The Damn Fine Cheese Company, Erin Croft Bakery and The Funky Fudge Company.

Don’t they all sound mouth wateringly delicious?

From meat and game to sweet treats, I plan to sample it all. Admission is free and the market visits the second Sunday of each month. The next is on May 8.

Ravenscraig

My gym at the Gourock outdoor pool is closed for refurbishment, so I am using the new Ravenscraig Centre – and I have to say I am very impressed.

It has brand new state-of-the-art equipment, lots of floor space for weights and three TVs, so I can watch Corrie while I work out.

It’s great that Junior and hubby can come along and use the soft play and climbing wall while I’m sweating it out upstairs. The café is great too. A welcome addition to Inverclyde Leisure.

The Jungle Book
If you are looking for something to do with the wee ones this bank holiday weekend, I highly recommend The Jungle Book movie.

Junior was transfixed by the live-action/CGI film that tells the story of Mowgli, a human boy who is raised by wolves and lives in the jungle.

Most of you will remember the original Disney cartoon. The film is very faithful to it and it features old favourites like ‘ I Wanna Be Like You’ and ‘The Bare Necessities’. Great fun.
