ON Saturday August 12 the i58 project will be collecting in supermarkets across Inverclyde as part of Step Up Saturday.

On the day they will take donations of food and school uniforms.

These donations will be used to support the work of Inverclyde Foodbank, Inverclyde Uniform Bank and also Inverclyde CAP Debt Centre.

The CAP Money Centre provides a free course that teaches individuals budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works.

Since opening in 2012, Inverclyde Foodbank has fed over 17,000 people in our community, 4,000 of which were children.

That is 4,000 kids who might never have had a packed lunch or an evening meal if it wasn’t for the foodbank.

i58 are once again asking the generous people of Inverclyde if they will ‘Step Up’ and help the thousands of men, women and children experiencing a crisis in the area.

The day will consist of handing shopping lists to customers and taking in donations to help the work of The i58 Project.

And i58 are only asking for people to donate two hours of time — if you want to donate more please feel free to do so.

By giving a little piece of your time you will literally be transforming the lives of the thousands of men, women and children who are experiencing a crisis within Inverclyde.

If you feel like this is something you want to do then please get in touch with the i58 project and sign up to your preferred supermarket via: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090844a8ac29a5fa7-step
