I HAVE received an appeal from Vancouver in Canada for help tracing members of a Greenock family called McDonald.
It comes from Janette Walker who wishes to learn more about her mother’s background.
Janette’s mother, Catherine McDonald, married William Wood, and they left for a new life in Canada 58 years ago.
It is understood Catherine’s father, John McDonald, ran a coal business. He was married to Mary White.
Jamette told me: “I believe I may still have an aunt Betty and her brother John McDonald living in the Greenock area.
“I would love to get in touch with my mother’s family.” Janette Walker can be contacted by email at wjanette60@gmail.com I am also happy to pass messages to her.
