PUMPED-UP Morton manager Jim Duffy admitted he would not be able to sleep on Friday night and intended to go home and relive the Renfrewshire derby for a second time in the early hours.

Ton and rivals St Mirren shared a 1-1 draw over the course of a pulsating 90 minutes at the Paisley 2021 stadium.

Duffy, whose side netted a 90th minute equaliser, revealed he would be wide awake that night and would likely sit up and watch a BBC Alba recording of the match.

He told the Tele: “As an insomniac, I taped the game and will probably watch it about 1am in the morning when I get back.

As a player and a manager I’ve never slept after a game. It’s just the way I am: your adrenaline is going; you’re rethinking the game. Like any football manager you’re thinking: ‘Could I have done this? Should I have done that?’ You reflect on whether you get your team selection right etcetera. You can’t just switch off the minute the game’s finished.

“To be honest, I don’t usually do it [watch the match again] the night of games, because it’s too soon.

“I normally watch it on the Sunday or something like that. But because of those [penalty] incidents I might look and see to clear my own mind.”
