MORTON followers will have the unique opportunity to design the club’s away kit for next season.

The Cappielow club, who allowed supporters to vote on this season’s pin-stripe home shirt, are following up on the popular idea with another public poll.

It will see schoolchildren given the chance to design their own strips before a selection of them are voted on by a wider range of Morton fan.

The club said: “Local school pupils – and any big kids who want to get involved — are asked to use their imagination and come up with the strip they would like to see their heroes wear on their travels in season 2017-18.

“Pick any combination of colours or quirky design – the more unique, the better – and our manufacturing partners Vision Outsourcing will make your dream a reality by producing the bespoke design.

“Kids are invited to send their entries to the club whereupon a panel of judges will select 12 to be developed graphically, with the dazzling dozen announced on the club website www.gmfc.net on October 7.”

Fans will be asked to narrow the choices down from a dozen to four in an online vote before the final quartet are produced as prototypes and put on display for another ballot.

The chosen kit will be confirmed in January and put into production to ensure that they go on sale before next summer.

Club director Warren Hawke said: “The strip ballot in the summer was met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction and we have decided to take that one step further.

“We value the thoughts and opinions of our fanbase and we feel it is important to continue to listen to them and engage with the local community.”
