MORTON loan star Aidan Nesbitt has earned a call-up to the Scotland under-21 squad.
The wideman, 19, has been named by Scot Gemmill in the pool for next month’s UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Iceland and FYR Macedonia.
It's Nesbitt's first call up to the U-21 set-up although he has worked with boss Gemmill at both under-17 and under-19 level.
Scotland are out of the running for a place at next summer’s finals in Poland, and coach Gemmill has decided to go with a youthful squad for the remaining fixtures, as he looks to the future.
Gemmill said: “I felt it was important to give our younger players a head start at this level.
“We still have two matches left to play in our group and I would rather start working with players that can play in the next qualifying campaign which is less than a year away.
“I believe we have some very exciting young players coming through and this is an opportunity for them to test themselves at a very high level."
