KUDUS Oyenuga has backed his strike partners to hit the goal trail again — even if it means he has to bide his time on the bench.

Gary Oliver hasn’t found the net since Ton’s 3-1 derby day defeat of St Mirren five outings ago, whilst Jai Quitongo last netted back in October during his side’s 5-0 mauling of then-league leaders Queen of the South in Dumfries.

But Oyenuga believes it’s only a matter of time before his team-mates start banging in the goals once again, and he’s happy to make an impact as a sub if it means victory for the team.

He told the Tele: “Sometimes that happens, sometimes you score the goals and other times you don’t.

“Jai and Gaz are both brilliant players.

“Gaz had a few chances to score [against Beith] and the keeper made some good saves from him, so it was just one of those games, that it just doesn’t go for you.

“Hopefully they’ll score on Saturday.

“But the gaffer is aware that I’m always ready when called upon, whether I’m starting or I’m on the bench. I will always look to come on and make an impact.

“Obviously every player wants to play every game, I want to start every game. But I know that if I don’t start, if I come on, I’ll try and make a good impact on the pitch to impress the gaffer.”
