THE Scottish Open is taking place only 45 minutes away from Inverclyde today and this is your opportunity to get along and watch the best players in the world tackle the links at Dundonald.
They will host a European Tour event for the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
This young inland links will be a fine test for the players and hopefully we get a strong wind to prepare the top stars for Royal Birkdale the following week.
In advance of the event, I was lucky enough to welcome the Scottish Open trophy to Gourock.
This visit, courtesy of the European Tour, was a highlight for our junior section and pictured with me is a future champion Justin Hayes.
