MORTON’s two-goal hero Michael Tidser says he was delighted to send Ton fans home happy on Saturday after his side’s convincing victory over St Mirren.
The Greenock men saw off their rivals with a terrific 4-1 win at the weekend — with Tidser netting two spot-kicks to help gun down the Buddies at Cappielow.
And the midfield talisman believes the result silences the critics who watched Ton crumble in the same fixture last season when they lost 4-1 at home to Jack Ross’s outfit.
He said: “The game against St Mirren last year at Cappielow was probably the poorest we had played in terms of actual performance. The gaffer mentioned that and most of the boys who played that game that night are still here.
“So it was in the back of our minds. But it’s a derby game, it’s very frantic and there’s not a lot of nice football usually played.
“There was decent stuff played this time but the main thing was that we allowed the fans to go home happy, we’ve done that and we’re delighted.”
