IT'S exciting times for Wanderers Wadies and Girls rugby right now.

They were given a once in a lifetime experience when four members of the Scotland Women's team, Rachel Malcolm, Rhona Lloyd, Caity Mattinson and Sarah Bonar took time out from their preparation for the World Cup to see for themselves the tremendous achievements of Wanderers W&G section.

The international players joined in giving invaluable advice and tips to the Fort Matilda players to take their game to the next level.

The girls section has grown remarkably from 15 to 52 players.

On Sunday the women's team travelled to Annan to take on the bottom side in the league and a rainy day did not help the quality of rugby.

Wanderers struggled to find any form and numerous disruptive injuries played havoc with their game, resulting in a disappointing 15 - 15 draw.

The women's 2nd XV headed down to Ayr for a friendly with the hosts and Marr and gave a very good account of themselves and are improving week on week.

Youth Roundup: The Micros showcased their potential at Ardrossan with a couple of losses and some victories.

P6, Ardrossan Festival: In a tough section they won 3 and lost 3.

P7, Ardrossan Festival; Played very well for 3 wins and 3 losses.

The U13s faced a formidable Dumfries side and lost 35 - 87.

The U15s triumphed at Bishopton with a well-deserved 38 - 52 win.

The U16s dominated against Renfrewshire Raiders with a commanding performance to run out winners 50 - 0.
