IT was another hard day at the office for Wanderers at Fort Matilda on Saturday.

Garnock were far too strong and it was evident why they are top of the league undefeated.

The early exchanges were pretty even with both sides trying to open their accounts, but Garnock were showing signs of their team having been together for some time.

They got the first score of the match after five minutes with a drive over the line by their forwards - 5-0.

Wanderers then had a good spell but were unable to breach the visitors line, and in the 18th minute Garnock added to their score and went 12-0 up.

Two minutes later it was 19-0 and  a further score made it 24-0 at half-time.

The second half produced a further two tries for the visitors to go 34-0 before Wanderers finally got on the scoreboard with a converted try by Campbell.

The home side had the better of play for a spell and had a disallowed try ruled out by the referee for a double motion.

One final try for Garnock completed the scoreline 41-7.

Despite the score Wanderers showed further progress in their development as a young side, finding it tough against opposition who are more mature and have been playing together as a unit for some time.

Wanderers have now played three of the sides at the top of the table so future games should be more equitable and points must be gathered if they are not to become detached in the league, starting with North Berwick this weekend.

Elsewhere, the Micros had a very successful visit to Helensburgh / Lomond, fielding four mixed P1, P2 and P3 teams, each putting in dominant displays with plenty of tries.

The P6 also played Helensburgh / Lomond and recorded a 21-3 victory.

The U16s had an impressive win 38-15 against Cartha / Cambuslang in the seond round of the cup - and remain undefeated in league and cup.

The Women's 1st XV lost 37 - 25 to West of Scotland, a disappointing result for them as they were leading for most of the match but West finished strongly.
