GREENOCK parkrun event number 424 report.

It was a cool morning on the Esplanade when 123 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom three were first timers and 20 recorded new personal bests.

Representatives of 16 different clubs took part.

There were four milestones achieved by runners and volunteers.

Rebecca Laird completed her 25th parkrun, Robin Kyle his 50th and Paul McKendry his 250th.

Volunteer Margaret Ann Scott volunteered for the 50th time.

Thirty-one seconds was all that separated the top three men. David Henderson was first to finish in 16:17. He was followed by Neil Lafferty (16:30) and Robert Paterson (16:48).

Lochaber AC's Isla Mackay was first female to finish in 20:23. Laura Kyle of Edinburgh AC was second female with a new PB of 20:41. In 21:44, Elizabeth Gemmell completed the top three ladies.

A special mention goes to the ever improving Evie Harrison who achieved a new PB of 21:34.

All at Greenock parkrun wish one of our volunteers, Arashk Mohseni, all the very best as he moves on to pastures new. He will be sadly missed by us all. We hope that he won't be a stranger and will come back to visit us when he can.
