Greenock parkrun, event number 425, December 9

IN wet and windy weather 70 people ran, jogged or walked the course, of whom four were Greenock first timers, including Nicola Tarrant, who was taking part in her 628th parkrun. Nicola was joined by Neil McDonough from Striders of Croyden AC, who completed his 401st parkrun.

Four runners recorded new PBs, and representatives of eight different clubs took part.

There were milestones too, with Patrick McCann completing his 25th parkrun and father and son, Kenny and Scott Lever completing their 50th parkruns together

All at Greenock parkrun send their congratulations to run director Stephen Hanley and his wife Jennifer on the birth of their baby boy, Ben.

Andrew White was first to finish in 18:38. In second place was Shettleston Harrier Marc McColl (19:26). Completing the top three male runners was Brian McAlees in 20:11.

In a time of 24:32, Marianne McKay was the first of the ladies to finish. She was followed by Nicola Falconer (26:23) and Rhonda White (27:10).

The event was made possible by 18 volunteers: Graham Smith, Gerard Robertson, John Stevenson, Clare Leung, Stuart Crawford, Jim Brannigan, Willie Logan, Jamie Blair, Lynne Harrison, Margaret Ann Scott, Helen Crawford, Lesley Dick, Paul Bleasdale, Amy Leung, Stephanie McCann, Tracey Howe, Marjorie Morrison and Jill Aikman.
