BATTERY Park junior parkrun report: event number 117, December 17.

On a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning, 15 runners took part in the junior parkrun.

There were no first timers or new PBs this week.

As part of their advent calendar challenge, the Lafferty family, Neil, Heather, Callum, Matthew and Isabel, all volunteered together.

There was one runner reaching a milestone. Caitlin Taylor completed her 50th junior parkrun, meaning that she received her ultra marathon wristband.

First to finish was Louis Reid in 07:37. Noah Carroll was second in 08:27. Elijah Taylor completed the top three boys in 08:51.

There were only three girls running and first to finish was Shana Byrne (10:27) followed by Amber Skye McDougall (12:29) and Quinn Arthur in 12:37.

Well done to all the runners and volunteers for taking part in horrible conditions.

We are very grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen: Catriona Anderson, Gillian Clark, Lesley Dick, Lynne Fulton, James Gavin, Martin Gregg, Tracey Howe, Callum Lafferty, Heather Lafferty, Isabel Lafferty, Matthew Lafferty, Neil Lafferty, Marjorie Morrison, Rachel Neil, Judy Ormond, Susanne Stetz, William Taylor.

On Christmas Eve, we will be having our joint fourth birthday and festive celebration. We have sent a letter to Santa to see if he can fit in a visit to us before he starts all his Christmas present deliveries.

We are looking for volunteers for Hogmanay and in to January 2024. If you can help out, or would like to find out more about volunteering, please email batteryparkjuniors@parkrun.com
