Greenock parkrun, event number 436, February 17

PARKRUN saw 106 people running, jogging or walking the course for the latest event, of whom 13 were first timers and ten recorded new PBs. Representatives of 11 different clubs took part.

There were milestones for two runners and one volunteer this week. Nav Ref and Catriona Cook both completed their 25th parkruns.  Graham Smith volunteered for the 50th time.

Andrew Osborne was first runner to finish (17:05)  followed Robert Paterson in second (17:26) with Lewis Khan a further six seconds back (17:32).

Lochaber AC's Isla Mackay was first of the ladies to complete the course (20:21) Paula McCabe of Cambuslang Harriers was second (21:13) and completing the top three was Sue Hewitson (25:05).  

The event was made possible by 16 volunteers: Neil Thomson, Stuart Austin, Ross Slater, Graham Smith, Barry McGlynn, John Stevenson, Sharon Black, Stuart Crawford, Heather Lafferty, Margaret Ann Scott, Helen Crawford, Emma Sinclair, Tracey Howe, Marjorie Morrison, Lesley Dick, Lynne McGlynn.

Parkrun's monthly pacer event takes place this Saturday.  If you can help out with pacing, the team asks that you can run two minutes faster than the time you are pacing.  Volunteers are also needed for the day and if you can help out, just email greenock@parkrun.com.

After parkrun, everyone is welcome to come along for refreshments at the Pirrie Hall at the church opposite the Esplanade Cafe.
