BRAVING another cold morning on the Esplanade, 104 parkrunners came out for the 144th event.

Organisers were delighted to welcome 11 first timers, including eight who were doing their first-ever parkrun, and tourist Oliver Pound who is on a mission to complete all 26 Scottish parkruns in 2017.

All in all this was a great morning.

Lots of runners smashed through time milestones this week, with Claire Melville going under 35 minutes for the first time and Yvonne McLaughlin and Fiona McWilliams flying under 30 minutes.

James Campbell, David Holmes and Alyshia Singleton went sub 27 minutes, Lynsey Mooney gave it her all to get under 24 minutes and Sue Hewitson edged even closer to her sub 20 target.

Fourteen-year-old Abbigael Crawford had a great run with her dad, taking over two minutes off her best time.

Graeme Hanna improved by close to 90 seconds while both Anna McGowan and Jennifer McClelland were close to a two-minute improvement.

Adele Marzella and Sharon Tait finished together in 31.23, bagging almost a minute PB (personal best).

Winning their battle with the wind, Vincent Farrell, Karen Jackson, Abi Hammerman and George Letson also earned strong PBs this week.

Finally, a reminder that parkrun have organised CPR and defib training for runners tonight at 7pm.
