MORTON travel to Edinburgh tonight to take on title-chasing Hibs for the second time in quick succession.

Jim Duffy's men face a stiff challenge against opponents who are in tremendous form and full of confidence at the moment.

The Easter Road outfit strengthened their squad in the recent transfer window, are enjoying an unbeaten in the league, are in the League Cup Final and recently added bitter rivals Hearts to the impressive list of scalps they have taken this season.

They were also able to enjoy the luxury of resting several key players as they swatted Alloa aside at the weekend.

Manager Alan Stubbs could now restore the likes of John McGinn, Jason Cummings and Anthony Stokes to his starting line-up for the clash with Ton.

Morton's main concern is over Mark Russell, who missed training on Monday due to illness, but boss Duffy is hopeful he will be fit to take his place in the side.

Ton have played the Hibees twice this season and both matches have been keenly-contested affairs.

They were unfortunate to go down 1-0 in the capital in August and lost by the same margin a couple of weeks ago at Cappielow after a mistake by skipper Lee Kilday allowed on-loan Celtic striker Stokes in to net the winner.

Ton go into the game looking to bounce back from their weekend defeat to Falkirk while the home side are eager to secure another three points to keep up their pursuit of Championship leaders Rangers.

Kick-off at Easter Road this evening is at 7.45pm.
