JIM Duffy has confirmed that Morton have received a bid from Doncaster Rovers for attacking star Jai Quitongo - but says it has been rejected by the club.
The 18-year old striker has burst onto the scene this season with a string of impressive performances which have caught the eye of scouts.
His form prompted the English League Two side - managed by Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex - to lodge an official bid.
But the Ton manager says the offer has been booted into touch.
The transfer window does not close until tonight - and the Tele understands that Doncaster could now return with an improved offer for the Greenock club to consider.
A statement just released by Morton added: "Jai is an individual we feel has a big future in the game. He is also considered a key member of our squad for this season’s Championship campaign and we will not allow such a player to depart for what we believe to be below his market value."
