TWO Inverclyde footballers have been called up to the Scotland Under-21s squad for a major competition in France.
Kilmarnock pair Greg Taylor, who lives in Gourock, and Adam Frizzell, from Greenock, both 19, have been selected by national team boss Scot Gemmill for the prestigious Toulon Tournament at the end of the month.
Former Morton loanee Aidan Nesbitt, who has just returned to parent club Celtic after a spell at Cappielow this season, is also in the 19-man squad.
Scotland will participate in the 12-team tournament in the south of France for the first time in 20 years.
They will face Czech Republic on May 31, Brazil on June 3 and Indonesia on June 6 in Group C, with the group winners advancing to the semi-finals along with the second-placed team from each of the three sections.
